Ziro, Oct 25: Standing Committee Meeting of the Chairpersons of State Public Service Commissions (PSCs) was held for the first time in Arunachal Pradesh at Ziro Valley on Saturday.
The meeting was graced by Dinesh Dasa, Member of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), who represented the Chairman of the UPSC, along with Prof. (Dr.) Pradip Lingfa, Chairman of the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC), Ravi Manubhai Parmer, Chairman of the Bihar PSC, Captain Rameshwar Singh Thakur, IPS (Rtd.), Chairman of the Himachal Pradesh PSC, Rajnish Seth, Chairman of the Maharashtra PSC, Thiru. S.K Prabakar, Chairman of the Tamil Nadu PSC, Sanjay Shrinet, Chairman of the Uttar Pradesh PSC and B. Venkatesham, Chairman of the Telangana PSC.
Alok Verma, the Chairman of the present Standing Committee of the Chairpersons of the State Public Service Commissions, who is also the Chairman of the Haryana Public Service Commission, attended the meeting virtually through video conference.
The distinguished dignitaries were accorded a warm traditional welcome on their arrival. In his welcome address, Prof. (Dr.) Pradip Lingfa, Chairman of APPSC, extended cordial greetings to all the members and delivered a comprehensive PowerPoint presentation on the functioning, achievements and future roadmap of the APPSC. He emphasized the Commission’s initiatives to integrate Information Technology (IT) into its functioning and examination systems to make the process more efficient, transparent and people-friendly.
During the meeting, members deliberated on various issues and challenges in conducting recruitment examinations in a free, fair, and merit-based manner. The Chairpersons also shared best practices adopted by their respective Commissions to strengthen transparency, efficiency, and coordination in the recruitment process across the country.
It may be recalled that the previous Standing Committee Meeting was held in Chennai in April 2025, where Prof. Lingfa had proposed Arunachal Pradesh as the next venue. The successful hosting of the meeting at Ziro marks a historic milestone and underscores the State’s commitment to promoting inter-state collaboration and administrative excellence in public service recruitment.
APPSC Members Col. Koj Tari (Retd.) and Jalash Pertin, APCS (Retd.), Secretary Ms. P. Priyatarshny, Deputy Secretary W Mossang, and other officials of the Commission were also present.
