ITANAGAR, Aug 2: Expressing resentment over the lackadaisical attitude of the state government, All Arunachal Samagrah Shiksa Abhiyan Teachers Association (Integrated Scheme for School Education) (formerly known as Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan) will hold a three-day dharna, as its first phase of agitational programme from August 8.
Addressing newspersons here today, president AASSATA, Tarak Agung Tarh claimed that despite repeated pleas for regularization of SSA teachers on phase wise since many years, the state government has not paid any heed to the demands. Moreover, despite setting up of five members committee headed by Secretary Education in March, the government has failed to make any commitment on regularization of jobs.
He further threatened that if the government failed to respond within the first phase of protest, all 6850 teachers will go on an indefinite non-cooperation movement where the serving SSA teachers will refrain from attending classes as well as all other duties like Survey, election duty and others duly assigned to them from time to time, followed by hunger strike as third phase of agitation.
“During the three days dharna SSA teachers from all the districts are expected to join the protest and government will be responsible for loss of classes and backlog of syllabus,” stated Tarak.
Moreover, SSA teachers who are coming to state capital to participate in the dharna will take refuge in their respective local MLA’s official bungalows, claimed AASSATA president.
