ITANAGAR, Aug 14: Sotai Kri, advisor to Arunachal Chief Minister Pema Khandu has been appointed as convener of North East NAMASTE States Swachh Bharat Mission. The appointment was made by  National Brand Ambassador PB Acharya, who is also  the Governor of Nagaland on August 8, said a press release issued here today.

The Swachh Bharat Mission was launched by  Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 2, 2014. Under this Mission, it is targeted to build one crore individual household toilets besides 2.52 crore community toilet seats. The mission seeks to eliminate open defecation and manual solid waste management.
