KANUBARI, Jan 8: Alleging non-payment of land rent and profit share to landowners, Longhua, Mopakhat and Sangsatham United Society (LMSUS) has threatened to call a strike against the Mopa Tea Estate, Kanubari run by the Arunachal Pradesh Forest Corporation (APFC) Ltd.
In its representation to the Managing Director of APFC Ltd, the Society claimed that APFC has failed to pay land rent and profit share to landowners for the last seven years. The agreement between Arunachal Pradesh Forest Corporation Ltd. (APFC) and Rujen Welfare Society (RWS) is totally unfair. As per the fountainhead, the tea plantation was started in 1979, whereas the agreement was made in the year 1992 between the first party and second party. Moreover, APFC has failed to manage Mopa Tea Estate, it said.
Submitting a resolution expressing its intention, the Society urged the Corporation for a round table talk at the earliest.
