ITANAGAR, May 19:Deputy Commissioner, Itanagar Capital Complex, Prince Dhawan, inducted 50 skill trainees in hospitality here today at Tadar Taniang Hall, Don Bosco Youth Centre. 

Speaking on the occasion, the DC while appreciating the services of Don Bosco Institutions, which work on the foundational principles of Reason, Religion and Kindness, called upon the skill trainees to imbibe the spirit of Don Bosco and his educational philosophy. He also spoke about the paradigm shift that the Central Government has made in empowering youth through skills and self-employment rather than giving subsidies and subsidized goods which last for a moment. 

He also spoke about the prime importance that  Chief Minister Pema Khandu, has given to youth of the State, especially through the implementation of the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Swalamban Yojana. Dhawan spoke at length on the scheme and called upon the trainees to come up with feasible proposals which they can execute at the completion of the training and empower themselves. Under this scheme the Govt. AP has tied up with NABARD to subsidize 30% of project cost that range between R. 10 lakh -1 Cr.

Earlier in his welcome address, Fr. CD Mathai, Parish Priest, Catholic Church, Itanagar spoke of pioneering work of skilling that Don Bosco, did way back in the 19th century in Italy on the onset of Industrialization.  He also thanked all the staff of NHPC Ltd., especially Ronel Kumar, the Executive Director for collaborating with DBYC in its CSR initiatives.

Ronel Kumar, Executive Director, NHPC Ltd., spoke of the many CSR programmes they have already initiated for the people of Arunachal in particular and North East in general. 

The trainees who hail from the States of Arunachal, Assam, Nagaland and Manipur will complete three months’ training and be placed in the hospitality sector.
