ZIRO, May 22: In yet another attempt to enhance the flourishing horticulture sector in Lower Subansiri, the Horticulture Department in collaboration with Indo-Global Social Services Society is conducting an intensive skill development program in horticulture sector for six days. 

The training would emphasis on organic cultivation of kiwi, large cardamom, kitchen gardening and nursery management. 

Inaugurating the training today at Hapoli, EAC Mokar Riba said "with unemployment at a meteoric rise in the state, the state government's initiatives under the skill development program should be viewed seriously and availed by all the unemployed youths. Lower Subansiri and Ziro in particular is blessed with very fertile land coupled with a conducive weather can become the horticulture hub of the state." 

He further exhorted the participants to avail the opportunity and equip themselves with the horticultural skills. 

The training scheduled for six days will be divided into theory, practical and field visit sessions along with interaction with the farmers.
