Itanagar, Aug 8: Secretary Information and Public Relations who is also Secretary Planning & Investment and RWD, NT Glow, stressed on prioritizing the completion of the academic block of the Film and Television Institute, Jote, so that academic activities can begin at the earliest.
The Secretary said this while visiting the FTI Jote to review the ongoing works of the project on Sunday. He was accompanied by Director, IPR Daser Teshi during the visit.
He also advised the executing agency to have a work plan for every month so that the deadline of March 2022 is achieved. Glow appreciated the local land donors and requested them to cooperate with the agency in the future as well for early completion of the project. The boundary wall of the institute was peacefully demarcated with cooperation of the locals recently.
The project engineer while updating the visiting officials cited several reasons which have affected the pace of work but assured to complete the project by July 2022.
Land erosion has hampered the smooth execution of works but a retaining wall is being constructed. The Covid-19 pandemic has also affected the works but now all the workers have reported and the work is in full swing, he said.
The secretary also enquired about water and electricity sources and sought feedback on it including those impediments which require assistance or follow-up from the department or the state government. He also interacted with locals and contractors of the approach road and requested them to cooperate and complete it at the earliest.
Other ongoing roads, bridges and culverts of the area including an 80 metre span steel bridge over Poma river under PMGSY were also inspected.
The DIPR suggested the executing agency construct a boundary wall so that no encroachment takes place in the future.
