BOMDILA, Apr 17: Secretary (Revenue) GoI, Hasmukh Adhia observed that the connectivity services being provided and the works being carried out for total connectivity in the state is not satisfactory. He also viewed that there was lack of coordination amongst the various departments.
He said this during an exclusive meeting with the service providers on Sunday last at Dirang Norphel Retreat to take stock of the connectivity status for Goods and Services Tax (GST) implementation in Arunachal Pradesh.
Volunteering help from his department, Adhia directed the service providers to be more pro-active and walk the extra mile to achieve the GST objective. He assured to look into the issues and take up the matters at the highest forum for speedy redressal.
Co-chairing the meeting, Chief Secretary Shakuntala Gamlin expressing her displeasure at the pace of the work being carried out and at the poor connectivity services being provided, directed the service providers to be more practical in their approach in order to deliver the required services on time.
Earlier, Special Secretary IT, GoAP cum DC Itanagar capital complex Prince Dhawan, in the power point presentation dealt on the current status of BSNL and that of the other private players, status of USOF projects, district wise OFC status of BSNL in the state, status of NOFN, commitments of BSNL and Railtel, pace of work, endeavours of the state government to increase penetration, issues to be addressed and state proposals.
A short film on Digi Dhan Mela held at Itanagar was also screened on the occasion.
Commissioner (Tax & Excise) Marnya Ete, Superintendent of Police PN Khrimey, ADC Dirang D Riba, ADC in-charge Bomdila S Khandu, officers from BSNL, Railtel, NIC and Tax & Excise attended the meeting among others. DIPRO
