ITANAGAR, Jun 22: Amidst huge criticism over the poor performance by students in this year’s CBSE class X examination, Secretary Education Bidol Tayeng in an official release has clarified that the pass percentage of Class X results of government schools of the state, which was declared on June 4 last had been wrongly reported in few newspapers as having declined as compared to previous year’s result.
Tayeng said that the pass percentage of class X in 2016 was 58 %, whereas the pas percentage of the same class in 2017 is 64%. Hence there is an improvement in pass percentage during 2017 by 6%.
Further, Tayeng also clarified that the news item describing the CBSE results of Class X as having declined during 2017 is incorrect and are not based on the records of the department of education.
