The investigation team is being headed by I/O Inspector S. Roy, supported by Inspector T. Habung and four other staff of the SIC.
"The SIC wants to assure everyone that our team is committed to investigating this matter swiftly so that culprits can be brought to justice," stated the SP.
Since inception of the work in 2008 , NEC has released ₹172.52 Cr but no visible progress has been made in 81 km Seppa-Chayang Tajo that connects several key administrative circles of East Kameng including Bameng, Sawa, Lada, Pipu, Gyapurang and Khenewa.
Earlier, AEKDSU sought the appointment of a permanent Investigation Officer and to expedite the investigation of the case.
SP has explained to the representatives that Inspr. S. Roy is the first I/O of this regular case. The Preliminary Enquiry of this case involving voluminous documents was completed in a short time despite of long lock down in the country during the first Covid-19 wave, he said.
