YACHULI,Jul 29:  Local MLA cum Parliamentary Secretary, Transport, Likha Saaya on Saturday formally inaugurated the Government Middle School,Toon,  under Yachuli which was upgraded from primary to middle school.
The inauguration was followed by a development meet attended by PRIs, GBs, officials, and heads of departments including the public at the school premises.
Addressing the gathering, Saaya pointed out that an area cannot prosper if there is no collaboration between district administration, public leaders  and stakeholders.
Underscoring the significance of community participation in the development process, he noted that their involvement can assist in the creation of new policies which are critical to the development of the area.
Talking over development initiatives brought during his two-term tenure as MLA, Saaya said fighting against  all odds he brought the Divisional Commissioner’s  Office, constructed ADC, PWD and SC offices as well as  stadiums and guest houses, etc and many more are in pipeline.
 
He also gave a patient hearing to suggestions and grievances put forward by former PRI members for political and economic development of the area.
Appreciating their submission, Saaya stated that being the MLA of Yachuli, he always gave top priority to the development of his constituency and its people before his personal interest. 
 
Further responding to the three point memorandum submitted by the School Development Committee, Saaya  asked the DDSE, Ziro to heed to the demands for construction of  a boundary wall and additional new classrooms for class VI and VII, using his quota under Chief Minister's Samast Shiksha Yojana.
 
He also assured funds for construction of a CC pavement road from Toon to Government College, Yachuli soon.
 
ADC Yachuli, JT Toko Obi in his address called for collective efforts from all the sections of society. Raising his concern over the degrading quality of education due to absenteeism and the fading teacher -student relationship , DDSE,  Ziro urged everyone to report such unprofessional behavior and  if ever detected action will be initiated against the defaulters.
 
Mentioning that many government run schools are in defunct condition due to fewer enrollment  of students, he called for reviving such schools through triangular effort from community, political and administrative level.
 
  Former ASM Chairperson, Joram Eliu and former ZPM, Joram Sala called for ending the "money culture" during elections and advised people to cast their votes to eligible candidates who deserve to reach the assembly and strive for public rights.
 
Circle officer,Tana Yaho, AEs,PHED and PWD, Secretary, BJP, State Yuva Morcha, Joram Tat, executive members of District Mahila Morcha, GBs 
and  public attended the meeting.
