ITANAGAR, Jun 17: There seems to be no relief for the NEEPCO authorities on Ranganadi Hydro Electric Project (RHEP) issue with RHEP MoU Demand Committee today deciding to go ahead with its agitation after its meeting with the district administration ended without any positive result on Friday.

Following an invitation from the district administration to discuss on the issue, the representatives of RHEP MoU Demand Committee on Friday met the DC Lower Subansiri, SP Ziro, ADC Yachuli and Circle Officers of Ziro and Yazali respectively at Yazali. However, inspite of a marathon discussion with the district authorities regarding RHEP the meeting didn’t reach to any positive conclusion.

The Committee has been demanding for drafting of a ‘fresh’ Memorandum of Understanding, proper review of relief and rehabilitation work, filling up of existing vacancies in RHEP from eligible candidates from project affected area, job regularization of recently W/C upgraded APST employees, 1% free power for local area development, establishment of NEEPCO ED office at Itanagar, strict implementation of CSR-CD (corporate social responsibility and community development) schemes on need basis, etc.

Meanwhile, the agitated members of RHEP MoU demand committee fervently requested the SP, Ziro to arrest the CMD NEEPCO for giving false information to the public and government of Arunachal.

“The CMD is misleading the government and public by giving false information about the project,” the committee stated.

Further RHEP demand committee also decided to carry forward their agitation till justice is delivered. The 1st stage of agitation will start from June 19 next.
