Rono hills, Jul 15: The Rajiv Gandhi University Teachers Association (RGUTA) today organised a long day programme to welcome the 16 new faculties into various disciplines of the university in the recently conducted interview.
Professor Tomo Riba, former Registrar, RGU and one of the senior most Professor of the university while attending the programme as the Chief Guest said that ‘one should feel very fortunate as a teacher to be working in Rajiv Gandhi University, as the state is still an unexplored paradise with various scopes for academic research across various disciplines’. He also suggested said once recruited in RGU one should not leave the university by applying for other universities which so far has created academic bottleneck for the university and the state.
Professor Rachob Taba, former Registrar and the senior most Professor of RGU while attending the programme as a Special Invitee recalled how the Rajiv Gandhi University, then Arunachal University established in 1984 started off with only seven faculty members. While encouraging the new recruits to pursue scientific academic works, he further advised that teachers should contribute immensely for the academic growth of RGU and the State.
Dr Daniel Mize, President RGUTA while congratulating the new recruits drew the attention of the faculty members of RGU regarding the challenges in higher education in Arunachal Pradesh and the role RGU teachers should play to mitigate it. He also expressed gratitude to Vice Chancellor Prof. Saket Kushwaha, for conducting the interviews amid the pandemic.
Dr David Gao, the Programme Coordinator and Dr Sikhdar Mohammad Sultan Askari also spoke on the occasion.
