ZIRO, Mar 15: The District Task Force on Immunization (DFTI) held its 4th meeting at the General Hospital, Ziro to review the performances of the 1st round of Mission Indradhanush(MI) and IPPI and to discuss the microplan for the 2nd round.

Chairing the meeting, ADC Nending Chatung said that the District Administration will guide and provide all the logistic support in ensuring successful immunization program, but called on every individual to equally participate for the success of the massive immunization programmes.

While expressing concern over continuous absenteeism by few DFTI members and poor participation of the teachers during all national health programs for children, he directed DDSE to issue circulars in time and ensure teachers participate in the programs.

“The children are our future. For the sake of their good health, a little bit sacrifice and selfless service should be rendered by us,” he further added.

He further directed CO, TPT Hage Tarung to mobilize vehicle requisition as these outreach immunization programs will involve lot of movement of men and medicines.

DRCHO Dr. Derin Likar while reviewing the performance of the 1st round of IPPI held onJanuary 29 last informed that 5395 children (0-5) yrs of age were vaccinated with OPV crossing the actual target of 5176, placing the district at a 104.23% percentage achievement.

Expressing gratitude to all the stakeholders for the achievement under the constant guidance of the Deputy Commissioner Kemo Lollen, he anticipated further cooperation for the 2nd round which will be held from April 2-4 next.

He further informed that in Round -2 of Mission Indradhanush Phase -4, the overall percentage performance of the district was 86.14 for children 0-2 yrs of age and 111.11 for pregnant women. DIPRO
