DCM reviews hydropower projects to strengthen state energy roadmap
ITANAGAR, Dec 9:
The Peoples Party of Arunachal (PPA) on Saturday while strongly condemning the reported dismantling of five under construction tourist lodges by Assam Police at Dollungmukh Circle, has called upon the Union Minister for Home Affairs, Kiren Rijiju to immediately intervene in the matter.
“Such illegal eviction drives in Arunachal territory that too without serving any prior notice is a matter of huge concern as well as contempt of Supreme Court order,” said PPA Secretary, Kaling Jerang while urging the Assam government to maintain status quo in the boundary related matter.
Over the clarification given by Deputy Commissioner North Lakhimpur that the eviction was carried out on the basis of Indian Air Force request, Jerang said since the eviction drive is defence related, we strongly urge the MoS Rijiju to take cognizance of the issue and settle the matter at the earliest.
He also suggested constitution of an independent committee for complete reassessment of the entire boundary stretch right from Balipara in the west to Kanubari in the east to bring an early solution to this vexed issue.
Further taking a dig at the BJP, Jerang alleged that it is a matter of serious concern for both neighbouring states which are coincidently under the same political party.
Jerang alleged that the two CMs have been seen campaigning together in political issues, but sadly when it comes to boundary related issues they have been at loggerheads and failed to bring a solution to the decade’s long issue despite working together in the same party.
