TEZU, July 25:Minister Agri, horti etc Dr Mohesh Chai said that his priority is education and health for better growth of human resources. “Education play pivotal role to mould and shape one’s personality. I give top priority to education and health for the better growth of human resource”, he said here in the unveiling ceremony of newly constructed double storied RCC building with six classrooms in the premises of Police Welfare Lower Primary School amid the presence of SP Lohit DW Thungon, Police officials, public leaders, teaching faculties and student.
The Minister also advised the students to perform their best and dissuade the prevailing drug menace as well as the negative impact of electronic gadgets. He further lauded Isaac Pertin DIGP the then SP Lohit and other teaching faculties for taking significant step to set up the welfare school.
The minister announced Rs 3 lakhs from MLALAD funds for construction of children’s play park in the school premises and another Rs 1 Lakh for corpus fund to encourage and promote the PWLP School.
SP Lohit also the Chairman of the school extolled the earlier SP and teachers for their enormous contribution to run the only PWLP School in the entire state.
The school established in the year 1996 as kindergarten with 14 students today has been upgraded up to VIII standard with 480 students. Monika Kalita Principal also highlighted the shortage of infrastructure like playground and Play Park for the physical growth of the students.
