PANGIN, Aug 6: An awareness programme on Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act (PWDVA) and Protection of Children from Sexual Offence Act (POCSO) was conducted at Rumgong in Siang District today.
Welcoming participants, Child Development Project Officer, Pangin, Omang Tangu, informed them regarding the special attention given by the government for protection of women and children and steps to tackle the rising incidence of crime against women and children through enactment of various Acts.
Lenzing Tagi, CDPO, Riga ICDS project, conducted the programme as resource person and also gave a PPT on both Acts.
Jumde Gamlin, CDPO, Rumgong ICDS Project appealed to all the participants to take active part in checking unlawful activities in society and urged them to disseminate awareness among the women groups.
