Itanagar, Oct 9 : The State  Planning and Investment Department, has alerted citizens about fraudsters attempting to deceive the public by soliciting money, commissions or bribes in the name of officers of the Department on the false pretext of securing sanction of Government schemes and programmes, or the release of funds for related works.
All information relating to schemes and programmes should be verified only through official government communications and directly with the Planning and Investment Department. Any demand for money, gift, favour or commission in return for sanction or processing must be treated as suspicious and prima facie an illegal act, the Department said in a statement on Friday.
Any person who receives such a demand, or has information about an attempted fraud, should report the matter immediately to the jurisdictional police station or the Anti-Corruption Bureau, or the Planning and Investment Department, the statement said.
