ITANAGAR, Jun 20:The Capital Complex Petroleum Depots Association (CCPDA) in a release has urged the Assistant General Manger (retail sales), Indian Oil Corporation to give permit to all the 13 IOCL petrol depots established in the state capital to sell normal petrol along with extra premium petrol , which is 3 Rupees cheaper than extra premium .
In an emergency meeting convened today, the CCPDA strongly condemned the IOCL recent decision to discontinue selling of normal petrol in their respective retail outlets and stated that the decision may deprive the genuine consumers of their choice.
The union further opined that the ROs, who have single underground for MS(Motor Spirit /petrol) then they should be allowed to sell normal petrol or if any RO has more than a single underground tank for MS(Motor Spirit/Petrol), then both normal petrol and extra premium petrol should be allowed for sale without restriction.
