Tezu, Apr 26: The 1st "Capt. KK Venkatraman Memorial Patriotic Group-song Competition" organised by the NSS Unit & NCC Unit of Indira Gandhi Govt College, Tezu jointly with Bamboosa Library at the IGG, College, Tezu on Friday evening brought cheers to all who gathered, as heavy rains and thunderstorms lashed the town. The competition was sponsored by the 6 Kumaon Regtt., of the Indian Army and coordinated by Dr Tame Achi, NSS Officer, IGG College.  12 teams numbering in all 60 students participated in the enlivening musical contest.
Introducing late  Capt.(retd.)  KK Venkatraman, as a multi-faced personality who served Arunachal youth for over 4 decades, the Coordinator, Lohit Youth Library Network presented the audience the memorable contributions of Capt. Ji, who dedicated hie entire life for promoting educational advancement of first-generation Arunachali youth, through various innovative interventions. He was also a dedicated founder-patron of the Lohit Youth Library movement. 
Paying his tributes to Capt.ji, Assoc Prof. Dr Manas Kr Jana,  lauded the NCC and NSS units of the College, for wholeheartedlyjoining hands with 6 Kumaon & the Bamboosa Library to organise the patriotic song competition. 
In the keenly contested senior group, where 9 teams of college students presented vibrant patriotic songs,  Zen Chikro and team from the Denning College of Teacher Education, Tezu  won the first prize for their song, “har karam apna karenge…” while the 2nd prize went to Sweety Tayang & team, while the third prize was won by Waijailu Hagabre (both teams from IGG College).
In the junior section of School students, Arpita Ram and team won the first prize with their enchanting presentation of “Seva ka vrat dhara” followed by Atinlu Mam & team from Wakro, while the third prize went to Jyoti Verma & team from Tezu. 
Well known singers Jinquilu Chai and Yealiang Tamblu, acted as the Jury.
Presenting the vote of thanks, senior library volunteer Jeenamsi Ngadong thanked Col. Ravi Panwar, CO, 6 Kumaon for his whole-hearted support to the Bamboosa Library, by sponsoring the contest, as his respectful tribute to Capt. Venkatraman ji, a senior member of his regiment. She also thanked Dr Rajen Miwu, NCC officer and Dr Tame Kachi, for spiritedly organising the event , in spite of heavy rains and thunderstorms.
