YUPIA, Sep 24: One day ‘Exporters Conclave’ as a part of Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav commemorating 75 years of Indian Independence was conducted here at ZPC hall Yupia today by the district administration, Papum Pare in collaboration with District Industry Centre Yupia.
Organising chairman –Cum- ADC (Hq) Yupia, Tabang Bodung while addressing the participants comprising SHGs, NGOs, young entrepreneurs and progressive farmers informed that the ‘Exporters Conclave’ is a first of its kind in the district and is being organised as part of Vanijya Saptah organised by the Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Govt of India to celebrate Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav. He further said that it is a good knowledge sharing platform and opportunity for entrepreneurs and farmers to discuss prospects and to promote products with export potentials of the district and state as a whole.
Zilla Parishad Chairperson, Chukhu Bablu who attended the programme as special invitee also encouraged the participants to have long term entrepreneurial goals to become an exporter in near future by utilising  the resources in a sustainable manner. He however said that most of the produce in the district is for self consumption only and urged the people to look beyond it to become self-reliant. He also requested the heads of offices of allied activities departments like Agri, Horti , Fishery and Animal Husbandry and Veterinary to impart proper technical knowledge to farmers to explore and  adopt sustainable farming activities.
Resource person of the programme, Likha Maj, lead promoter of Mega Food Park near Banderdewa shared his experiences of being a progressive farmer and its challenges. Speaking about the   huge potentials of  agri-allied activities in Papum Pare District, Maj said that  Papum Pare is  well connected from all fronts, and in line with Atma Nirbhar Bharat ‘vocal for local’ initiative   people  should focus on farm oriented activities as there is   surplus unused land in foothills areas which should be brought into use to enhance the agri-allied activities.
He also informed that Mega Food Park is a Govt of India initiative to establish direct  backward and forward linkages from farm to processing through cluster based approach. He further encouraged the young progressive farmers and said that there is vast scope for the farming sector and assured that Mega Food Park will help in strengthening forward and backward linkages. Speaking about challenges of exporting the produce, he also pointed out that proper infrastructure like cold storage, collection centres need to be established in the state for exporting perishable items in a safe manner.
Arunachal Pradesh Rural Bank Chairman Dr.Deepak Kumar Gupta who also attended the programme as resource person  also spoke on role of Arunachal Pradesh Rural Bank in economic growth of the state and elaborated on incentives given by state and Centre for export promotion and promotion of business   by the bank to  SHGs, NGOs, entrepreneurs and farmers.
Earlier, DDI- Cum- Convenor  D.T Aka also highlighted the importance of the conclave and emphasised that its main focus is to discuss and make the district an export hub.
