ITANAGAR, Aug 2: More than 100 persons without Inner Line Permit (ILP) were caught by police during an intensified checking conducted within the twin capital cities during the last two days. The violators mostly labourers were later deported outside the state territory.
The drive was carried out by a police team following an order issued by Capital SP M Harsha Vardhan on the advice of the DGP to check influx of illegal migrants.
The DGP also directed all Circle Officers (COs) to strictly verify the documents of applicants before issuing ILP and co-operate with concerned police station in zeroing in on the violators.
