ITANAGAR, Nov 8: The three-day peaceful protest and dharna organized by the Jan Andolan Anti-Corruption Movement of Arunachal Pradesh (JAAMAP) and India Against Corruption (Arunachal Unit) concluded today at IG Park, Itanagar, with a renewed pledge to continue the fight against corruption and demand accountability from the state leadership.
Throughout the protest, thousands of citizens voiced their anger over alleged corruption scandals linked to Chief Minister Pema Khandu, his family, and close associates, demanding his resignation and a CBI/SIT-monitored investigation into the alleged misuse of public funds running into thousands of crores under major schemes such as SGRY, Hydro Power Projects, SDF, and others.
Addressing the gathering on the concluding day, JAAMAP Organizing Chairman Nabam Tagam reaffirmed that the people’s movement will not stop until justice is delivered. He announced that the protest would now move to the national capital, New Delhi, where a larger public demonstration will be organized to draw the attention of the Central Government and investigative agencies.
Tagam further informed that a memorandum detailing the corruption allegations and public demands will soon be submitted to the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, seeking his intervention and urging immediate action.
