ITANAGAR, Jun 12: Abotani Clan Organization has urged the state government to immediately create a separate Abotani Tradition and Culture department for conservation and promotion of Abotani culture and its tradition within next 90 days.

Speaking to media persons at press club today, Advisor, ATCO, Taba Taku cleared the air that the demand for creation of Abotani Tradition and Culture department is to preserve and promote Abotani tradition and culture.

 ‘In comparison to other clans in Arunachal, Abotani descendents are in majority but unfortunately there is nothing concrete to preserve the rich heritage as a result most tradition and culture are on verge of extinction,’ asserted Taku .

When asked about, silence being maintain by the legislators belonging to Abotani clan despite being the majority in the state assembly, Taku categorically claimed that most of the incumbent legislators are in support of creation of the said department.

‘Moreover we have the support of all the apex bodies of community based organizations, especially from Tani clan,’ he added.

In addition, Taku also urged for revision of Revised Estimate (RE) of the financial year 2016-17 alleging discrimination in disbursement of fund. It is also learnt that many legislators are not pleased with the recent budget where focus was made only on two districts i.e. Namsai and Tawang and termed the pre-budget meeting with various stakeholders an eye wash.

Meanwhile, ATCO also appealed for immediate construction of green field airport and implementation of minimum wages as per the central government's announcement.
