ITANAGAR, Jul 23: Citing lackadaisical attitude of the state government to their charter of demands, Nyishi Youth Welfare Association (NYWA) and Arunachal Indigenous Students Union (AISU) threatened to call a 24-hour capital bandh on August 2 next.
Addressing a press conference, President NYWA Tai Talley said that despite repeated reminders submitted to the state government on their charter of demands that include floating of NIT under GeM Portal especially of COVID funds, immediate repeal of Arunachal Pradesh District Based Enterprises and Professional (Incentive development and professional) Entrepreneurs Act 2015, immediate annulment of Arunachal Pradesh Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act 2014 , cancellation of three ST certificates illegally issued to Tibetan refugees, renaming of Indira Gandhi Park as Abotani Park, introduction of a chapter about Arunachal Pradesh in NCERT syllabus, the state government is showing no interest to resolve the issues.
” Instead of advertising the NIT through GeM portal, the concerned state health authority is violating the central government’s order by advertising the NIT through other online modes to please some people," added Tai Talley.
He also added that AP Unlawful Activities Prevention Act 2014 act is draconian in nature as it gives extraordinary powers to law enforcers to book any pressure group leaders protesting to press for their rightful demands even through democratic ways.
President, AISU, Techi Talik stressed on the need to repeal the District Based Enterprises and Professional (Promotion Development and Professional) Entrepreneurs Act 2015 as to give equal opportunity to all contractors irrespective of their place of domicile to participate in any tenders.
He also reminded the authorities for cancellation of ST certificates illegally issued to three Tibetan refugees and to rename the IG Park as Abotani Park.
