ITANAGAR, Jun 7: A young man died and another seriously injured in a tragic road accident when the Scooter in which the duo were travelling collided with a Tipper truck  around 4.30 AM at the turn near Barapani , tri-junction, NH-415, Naharlagun.

The victim was identified as Hage Nado , a resident of Ziro, working as WT (wireless telecommunication) operator under 4^th IRBN . His pillion rider identified as Gyati Talley, Head Constable (Telecom) posted at Doimukh Police Station was also reported to have sustained grievous injuries and presently admitted to a hospital.

The police said that after the incident the driver of the truck fled from the spot. The body of the deceased after post mortem has been handed over to the family members.

On receipt of a complaint from one Hage Gambo,  a case at Naharlagun Police Station vide Case No-76/17 u/s-279, 338, 304 (a) IPC has been registered and investigation is on to trace the absconding driver, the police source said.
