ITANAGAR, Aug 23: Hundreds of trained nurses from different hospitals and institutes of the capital complex joined a rally organized by the Trained Nurses Association of Arunachal Pradesh as a part of their nation-wide protest under Trained Nurses Association of India here today.
Speaking to the media, President TNSAP, RT Yasung said that they are demanding basic rights like maternity leave for nurses and nursing faculties in government and private sectors, no contractual appointments, maintaining nurse-patient ratio for proper healthcare, regularization of all contractual staff, required allowances for the contractual nurses and others.
While expressing concern over makeshift Nursing Institute in the state, the association has also demanded a permanent structure with standard facilities for Nursing School as per the guidelines of Nursing Council. Informing this, Yasung added that they have also submitted amemorandum to the concerned authority for early redressal of their demands.
The rally which started from Akashdeep culminated at Tennis Court, IG Park.
