 Teacher rationalization from June

ITANAGAR, May 13: The two-day meeting of all Deputy Directors of School Education of State (DDSEs) in connection with rationalization of teachers concluded on Saturday which was chaired by Education Minister Honchun Ngandam. The process of rationalizing the transfer and posting of teachers in the state which has the approval of the cabinet will be implemented from June next. The process of rationalization is being carried out as it will help to understand the teachers posted are in excesses or deficits across the State.

Sharing his views, Ngandam called upon all officials of the department for carrying out the rationalization exercise expeditiously. ‘The officers of the department must monitor the rationalization process regularly and ensure compliance in prescribed timeframe. They must also take necessary measures so that the information, duly verified by them, is furnished timely,’ he added.

In order to properly utilize the available teaching staff with the department, it is imperative that the deployment of staff is in such balanced way that it maximizes benefit to the students, Ngandam said.

He also called upon the officers and staff of the directorate to work with renewed energy in revamping education scenario from the next academic session.

Ngandam also emphasized on completion of Aadhaar enrolment and opening of bank accounts of students and teachers as early as possible and all the DDSEs were asked to complete the task timely.

While, Parliamentary Secretary Education Pani Taram urged the officers of the department to work dedicatedly and whole-heartedly as the state government has adopted zero tolerance policy towards health and education sector. He appreciated the efforts put up by some officers of the department on finding timely solution for rationalization of teachers but at the same time in his strongest term, he asked to initiate action against those officers who failed to attend or remained absent from the meeting.

Pointing out the guidelines that were to be followed for the rationalization exercise, Special Secretary Education Mitali Namchoom emphasized on the timely completion of the same.

She urged the DDSEs to submit the status of Aadhar enrolments as well as bank account openings immediately and also directed that DDSEs, Principals and Headmasters should take personal interest and accountability in increasing Aadhaar as well as bank account enrolments.

Earlier, the six groups created for finalization of district wise rationalization of teachers presented their report and review of works done by each group.

The meeting also discussed various issues like establishment and financial matters, smart classroom, action against teacher’s absenteeism, poor standard of learning and teaching outcome.

The meeting was also attended by Directors of Education, all DDSEs of the state and other officials were also present.
