ITANAGAR, Jan 8: The North East Students’ Organisation (NESO) which comprises of all the student's organization of the northeastern states including the All Arunachal Pradesh Students’ Union (AAPSU) today  expressed  its solidarity with the Twipra Students Federation (TSF) which is observing Black Day today being the 2nd Anniversary of the brutal atrocity committed by the security personnel upon the TSF activists while they were staging a peaceful and democratic movement against the Citizen Amendment Bill 2019 at Madhav Bari, Tripura on 8th January 2019. In its press communiqué, NESO said the security personnel involved in the heinous atrocity should have been punished, but sadly till today none of them have been punished.

The indigenous communities of Tripura are not only marginalized but also oppressed and suppressed by the Government of Tripura headed by non-indigenous Tripuris. In this backdrop, NESO demands that the police personnel involved in the unwarranted firing upon the indigenous people of Tripura should be punished and action taken against them, stated the release.
