ITANAGAR, Mar 6: 12 Bn National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) is currently organizing various capacity building and training programmes for the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) personnel, NCC cadets and the state’s community volunteers at its headquarters in Doimukh and other locations.
In its 8-week training programme, NDRF trainers are imparting specialized capacity building skills to 40 SDRF personnel in Chimpu and the mega state level disaster training programme for the Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) community volunteers is going on with the 1st batch completed on Friday last covering 102 trainees. Around 500 more will be trained in the next 5 batches. At Rajiv Gandhi University campus around 500 NCC cadets and at 5 Assam Bn around 115 cadets are learning the basic knowledge and skills of disaster management.
The comprehensive course modules prepared by 12 NDRF will include topics like basic search and rescue, patient assessment, BLS & CPR, post-snake-bite measures, fire safety, group exercises etc. There will be both theoretical and practical sessions aimed at building the capacity and confidence of volunteers for acting as first responders.
Apart from these, basic disaster management and advance equipment training like deep diving, speed boat handling and collapse structure search and rescue technique training are being conducted for the SDRF personnel. NDRF PR
