ITANAGAR, Aug 10: A two-day national seminar is being held at Don Bosco College here on the topic “Role of Financial Institutions and MSMEs in the Socio- Economic Development of Northeast India”.

L. Wanglat, former Finance and Home Minister, Arunachal Pradesh, as chief guest of the first day, enlightened the gathering about the pros and cons of the economic status of the state.   Dr. Gyanendra Mani, General Manager, NABARD, Itanagar, who was the guest of honour, explained about the re-financing of growth and development in Arunachal Pradesh. 

Keynote speaker, Dr. Sukamal Deb, Regional Director, In-charge, Ministry of MSME, Govt. of India, shared the knowledge of the present and future perspectives of MSMEs in North East.   The first Technical Session was chaired by Dr. A.K. Pandey, Associate Professor, DN College. Over all there were over 130 participants and paper presenters from various universities and colleges across the country.  Dr. (Fr.) Jose Karamullil, Principal of the College welcomed all the guests to the programme and Fr. C.C. Jose, Director of the College gave a brief speech about the Seminar. 

The Second day of the seminar tomorrow will witness nine resource persons sharing their expertise on various topics and it will also witness several research paper presentations.
