ITANAGAR, Feb 19: The widely-watched and highly popular informative TV channel National Geographic which has been presenting the viewers with unforgettable documentaries on science, adventure and explorations over the years will mirror Arunachal Pradesh in its two-part documentary series titled ‘Postcards from Arunachal’ on Saturday when the state will be celebrating its 35th Statehood Day.
The documentary will premiere at 8.00 pm on National Geographic Channel India and Fox Life India with actor Radhika Madan as the narrator. “Arunachal Pradesh truly is a veritable treasure house of nature and culture and has a lot to offer to tourists from all over the world. From serene monasteries to beautiful mountains, to deep-rooted traditions and tribes who live harmoniously together, we are happy to partner with National Geographic and premiere it on a special day,” Chief Minister Pema Khandu said.
The documentary explores the varied destinations spread across the state and the immersive cinematography complemented by an absorbing storytelling promise to showcase the state’s picture-perfect mountains, tranquil lakes and all elements of natural beauty. The narrator will be seen sharing her experiences of peace and calmness at the monasteries, about the state’s diverse handicrafts and its rich indigenous culture with tribes living in a milieu of harmony. From the exotic flora and fauna exclusive to the state to the bustling markets amidst serene hills and from extreme sports to adventurous camping in Ziro Valley, the documentary promises to enthrall the viewers. “At National Geographic, we harness the power of storytelling, technology and stunning visuals to push the boundaries of exploration and provide a deeper understanding of a place. With this documentary series, we have showcased the beauty, serenity and vibrancy that Arunachal Pradesh has to offer to give our viewers an opportunity to understand and appreciate the wonders of the state” a National Geographic spokesperson said.
Talking about the experience in the project and her visit to the state, Radhika said: “The journey means so much more to me than just travel. This is my first ever solo trip to Arunachal and that made this shoot even more special. The gorgeous hills, beautiful harmonic culture, thriving and diverse wildlife truly made me fall in love with this place. This film will always be close to my heart and I am thrilled that I get to share this experience with all my fans.”
