DIRANG, May 17: 

 

Parliamentary Secretary for Health and Family Welfare cum local MLA Phurpa Tsering has assured to come out with an amicable solution to curb the ever increasing parking problems of local taxis that has been creating chaos in the township for some time.

The assurance from Tsering came after the All Arunachal Pradesh Public Transport Federation (AAPPTF) led by its president Dobing Sonam called on the former after its meeting here on Wednesday.  

It was informed that the AAPPTF after receiving complaints in this regard from various sections had convened a meeting with all commercial vehicle owners of Dirang.

The federation during the meeting also condemned the authorities concerned of district transport office, Bomdila for allegedly collecting illegal road tax and compulsory 5 years payment for plying permit from commercial vehicles in the West Kameng district.

AAPPTF also resolved that only local taxis would be able to carry tourist for local sightseeing and cautioned that the others doing so would be penalized.

Various other issues like issuance of plying permit, registration of vehicles etc was also discussed.

Besides AAPPTF vice president Nyamo Bagra and convener Kutung Jomoh, the presidents and general secretaries of AAPPTF’s West Kameng and Kameng Regional unit were also present in the meeting.
