NEW DELHI, Jul 27:  Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein on Wednesday took up the issue of the Potin-Pangin section of the Trans-Arunachal Highway and other roads in the state with Union Minister of Road, Transport & Highways (MoRTH)  Nitin Gadkari.

 He was accompanied by Minister of State for Home Affairs  Kiren Rijiju. Mein apprised the Union Minister of the deteriorating conditions of the 407 km Potin-Pangin stretch of the Trans-Arunachal Highway and stressed that it needs immediate attention of the Central Government for its early completion.
The Union Minister was reminded of a previous meeting with Mein on February 28  where the Ministry agreed to process  the sanctioning of funds package wise provided that 80 per cent of  land is made available having continuous length before Letter of Award (LoA) is issued for each package.

 The state Public Works Department has  already submitted the DPR for all the 9 packages to the Regional Office, Itanagar, he added.
Mein also discussed the terminated projects of SARDP-NE namely, Lalpui-Manmao-Changlang and reminded the Union Minister that earlier in a meeting on July 12  it was decided to allow one month time to the original contractor for mobilising the work and if the contractor failed to comply, the Ministry has agreed to re-tender the balance work.

He also raised the issue of Longding-Tissa –Khonsa road to which the Ministry had agreed to re- tender the balance after placing the proposal before the next HPC and sought for early sanctioning for Package B & C of 4 Laning of Itanagar to Banderdewa Road NH-415 (Package-B & C).  

Regarding  the double laning of Khonsa-Hukanjuri Road NH-315A (35 Km), the Ministry informed that the land acquisition estimate of Hukanjuri- Khonsa is being considered for sanction provided the State Govt. agree 2.5 % administrative charges as requested by the Ministry . After disbursement of the land acquisition amount fully by the State Govt. phase wise DPR submitted shall be considered for sanctioning.                                                        

The Minister of WRD, Mines and Minerals, Kamlung Mosang, Advisor to Chief Minister, Wanglin Lowangdong, Principal Resident Commissioner, Jitendra Narain Singh and Chief Engineer ( Highway Zone), Toli Basar were also present in the meeting.
