ITANAGAR, Jul 30: Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein today officially dedicated the much needed 132 KV Double Circuit Transmission Line from Hoj to Itanagar, including 2X20 MVA, 132/33 KV Sub- Station project at Chimpu in presence of Minister for Power, Tamiyo Taga, Parliamentary Secretary for Power Thangwang Wangham, Engineers of Power department among others.
Mein also laid the foundation stone for the upcoming State Load Despatch Centre complex at the same location.
Speaking to reporters, Dy CM opined that the moment is historic for the state and its people as the government has completed and dedicated the much needed Sub-station project under the Department of Power.
Mein also extended his gratitude to all the Engineers and workers who dedicatedly worked to complete the project.
When asked about repeated load shedding and power cuts, Minister for Power, Tamiyo Taga said ‘ The state has already received surplus power this year, however the state lacks modern technologies like thunder-storm proof, lightning proof power project. There is potential to generate power in the state but it is yet to be harnessed.’
132 KV Double Circuit Transmission Line from Hoj to Itanagar including 2X20 MVA, 132/33 KV Sub- Station project was sanctioned and work commenced on June 2008 under North East Council (NEC) with fund worth Rs 4950.00 lakh however it was later revised to Rs 7245.00 lakh.
