ITANAGAR, Jan 29: Meghalaya State Assembly Speaker Metbah Lygdoh on Friday paid an official visit to Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly Secretariat. The Speaker and a team of officers from Meghalaya State Assembly is on a two-day State visit to get a first hand information about National e-Vidhan project which is already implemented in Arunachal Assembly.
Arunachal Assembly is first in the northeast and third in the country to have successfully implemented the ambitious National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA) project.
Speaker Metbah Lygdoh and his team were received by Pasang D. Sona at his office chamber. The visiting dignitaries were felicitated with traditional jackets and headgears.
Both Speakers discussed at length about National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA) project and other issues pertaining to regional cooperation.
During the course of discussion, Sona informed his counterpart that the whole idea of NeVA project was not only to make all functions of Assembly paperless but also to save time, money and energy.
Lauding the Arunachal Assembly for successfully implementing the NeVA project, Meghalaya Speaker Lygdoh sought for necessary guidance/assistance from Arunachal Assembly, adding Meghalaya Assembly is also planning to bring in the project. The permanent building of the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly is likely to be completed soon, he informed.
Later, both Speakers accompanied by officials took a tour of Assembly Complex and visited Nokmey Namati Hall, Library, DK Auditorium, NeVA Centre and main Assembly Hall.
