LOILIANG/TEZU, Aug 5: With a view to create awareness on importance of conservation of water, self help groups (SHGs) of Loiliang and Mekaliang village under Lohit district organized ‘reflection and awareness programme on water scarcity” here today .
Addressing the gathering, junior engineer Baken Padu elaborated on how to conserve or abstain from misuse of water in day to day life. He also appealed to the villagers to refrain from polluting rivers, lakes or streams.
He also highlighted various upcoming projects of the government for water conservation and to avoid water scarcity in the villages.
Hundreds of villagers from Loiliang and Mekaliang as well as Pomliang villages attended the day-long awareness programme.
