ITANAGAR, Jun 1: Much to the delight of people of Mechuka Sub-Division, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Mechuka, Tungge Loya, inaugurated the Sub-Treasury Office at Mechuka in the presence of Sub Treasury Officer Neywin Mongmaw on Thursday.

A simple but impressive function was organized in the newly inaugurated office premise which was attended by PRI leaders, HoDs and general public.

Speaking on the occasion, ADC Loya said that the newly inaugurated office would cater to the needs of public of entire Mechuka Sub-Division.

The ADC extended gratitude to local MLA and Parliamentary Secretary for Tourism PD Sona for his active initiation to make the Sub Treasury functional in the Sub-Divisional Headquarters. He also thanked the Commissioner Finance, Secretary Finance and Director of Accounts and Treasuries for their cooperation in establishing the much needed office in the town.

Loya also commended the arduous ground work done by STO Mechuka Neywin Mongmaw to make the office operational as his work involved liasioning with the institutes such as Reserve Bank of India Guwahati and Regional Head office of SBI Guwahati which are primarily outside the purview of State Government.

The STO also spoke on the occasion and highlighted the process and the time taken to make the office operational and also the functions of his office towards the public of Mechuka and the HODs

It is worth mentioning here that the Sub Treasury Office was long pending demand of the public of the Mechuka Sub Division. Prior to establishment of the office people had to travel 182 km down to district headquarters for works.
