NAHARLAGUN, Mar 5: IMC mayor Tame Phassang today got the Covid vaccine by taking the first shot here at the Tomo Riba Institute of Health & Medical Sciences (TRIHMS).
Informing that he is absolutely fine after taking the shot, Phassang recalled the Prime Minister’s appeal in making the nation Covid-free by getting vaccinated. “People should not have any doubt regarding Covid-19 vaccine as it is safe and even the Prime Minister and other Union Ministers have taken it,” he said, adding that Member of Lok Sabha (Arunachal East) Tapir Gao has also come forward for the cause. While appealing all to join the mass vaccination process, the mayor also appreciated the dedication of the State Health department and all Covid warriors for standing tall during the pandemic and keeping the state safe from the deadly virus.
Meanwhile, DMO (ICR) Dr M Perme informed that more than 3000 have been vaccinated in the capital so far and no side effects have been reported yet. “Mild fever after taking the doses is common and is a proof that the vaccine is working fine. Although there is no need to worry, we are always here for any kind of help,” Dr Perme assured.
Along with the mayor, his mother Niyoni Phassang, corporator Gyamar Taj, IMC Commissioner C Chukhu, PPA Chairperson Kamen Ringu, APWWS President Gumri Ringu also joined the vaccination round.
