JOTE , Jul 23:A massive turnout was witnessed at the Jan Sunwai Sammelan organized by the Papum Pare district administration here today.
Over 30 departments set up their counters under one roof which witnessed a rush of people to fulfill their various needs.
The Sammelan was inaugurated by the village headwoman of Jote village Nabam Yasing in presence of deputy commissioner Dr. Joram Beda, Superintendent of Police Tumme Amo, and different heads of departments and other officials and general public.
The DC visited all counters and directed all Heads of Departments to facilitate services to the citizens in best possible manner. Along with SP, the DC at the Department of Fisheries counter distributed 2000 fingerlings to 10 progressive fish farmers under Sangdupota Circle. Progressive Farmers Nabam Nikter and Gollo Talo were also awarded by the Deputy Commissioner.
He also distributed prizes to winner of the ‘Baby Show’ organised by Women and Child Development Department, Papum Pare, to the toppers of Class X and XII CBSE under Sangdupota and free LPG connections under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY).
Good turnout was also witnessed in the Health department counter where many people were registered and screened for non-communicable diseases.
Under National Health Mission, awareness on family planning and IDCF were also conducted by free distribution of ORS, Albendazole, tablets, condoms, pregnancy test kits, IEC materials,etc.
12BN NDRF also demonstrated on relief and rescue operations during any disaster.
To make the citizens participate in the programme, the district administration engaged buses to bring in people from far off villages. JSS covered 37 villages under Sangdupota circle.
