TEZU, Mar 26: Thousands of people participated in the mass peaceful protest rally organized by the Justice Seeking Forum of All Mishmi (JUSFOAM) in collaboration with All Mishmi Women Welfare Society (AMWWS), Green Arunachal Foundation (GAF), All Mishmi Student Union (AMSU),Lohit District Labour Union, Eastern Bar Association and other civil societies demanding justice for former Chief Minister, Late Kalikho Pul here today at Tezu.

Holding placard and banners, participants burnt effigies of sitting Chief Minister Pema Khandu, Deputy CM Chowna Mein and Spokesperson PD Sona demanding immediate step down of all three. They also asked PD Sona to return back the Rs 4 crore as alleged in ‘Mere Vichar’.

Addressing the rally, Chairman JUSFOAM, Khunang Kri, blamed political leaders for compelling Pul to take the extreme step.

‘During the political tussle in the state, Pul managed expenditures for all his supporting MLAs in the national capital by selling his hard-earned properties back here in his hometown,’ he said terming the 60-page note ‘Mere Vichar’ as an eye-opener for the people of the state on the rampant corruption.

While condemning the non-responsive attitude of  MoS Kiren Rijiju , Kri alleged that since last four months, wife Dangwimsai and son Ojingso have been wandering in the national capital seeking justice of her late husband but still he (Rijiju) never tried to meet and confer support to the family.

Terming the 60 page note as a suicide note, President AMSU, Ligam Takaliam said ‘The writer was not a common man, he was a law maker and former Chief Minister, who knew the system and its workings very well,’ he said demanding immediate inquiry on the whole episode from independent agencies.

The protest rally began from the private residence of the late leader and culminated at Jubilee ground.
