ITANAGAR, Aug 7: Four-day training on planning, management and administration for Head teachers of government upper primary schools is underway at Dorjee Khandu State Convention Hall which started today.

Inaugurating the orientation programme as chief guest, Minister for Education, Honchun Ngandam said this type of training for the head teachers of UPSs has been the first of its kind imparted in the state. The Minister emphasized that such training is a must and mandatory in all organizations, departments, even in political parties as well as amongst legislators to improve their skills and knowledge and working capabilities. 

Ngandam further informed that the head teachers and the teachers as a whole should have proper planning management and strong administration skills through which they can make students disciplined. 

Earlier, in his key note address, Secretary, Education, Dr. Madhu Rani Teotia said the head teachers have the sole responsibility of running their schools properly and in order to do so they need to acquire such skills on management and planning adding that teachers play a very important role in imparting discipline and leadership quality and to prevent children from dropping out.

The Director,  Elementary Education, Tapi Gao   informed that the department is planning to impart training to the teachers outside of the state like in Ahmedabad in near future and 170 schools of the state have been selected so far for introducing smart classes. The head teachers of respective schools from different districts all over the state are participating in the orientation programme.
