PASIGHAT, May 20:   While alleging 4 liquor vendors of the town for violation the recent Supreme Court rulings and State Government’s order, the All Bogong Students’ Union (Elected) has appealed the DC, Pasighat to take appropriate action against the erring vends and cancel their licenses.

In a letter to DC, Pasighat on Friday, ABSU (E) also said that, these particular liquor vendors whose licenses have expired in between July-December 2016 were running their businesses flouting the SC and State Government order of keeping away 500 mtrs from highways.

While alleging complete violation of Supreme Court and state government’s order by these liquor vendors, Lungkang Ering, President ABSU (E) said “After our complaint against the erring liquor vendors, the respective proprietors of the vendors are now saying that, they have already paid their Challan during last December only, just before Supreme Court’s direction. But license were not renewed which was due to the lapses of concern Tax & Excise department. But our concern is why the alleged vendors violated the order despite their licenses still standing expired”, added Ering.

When Kingman Komut, Supdt. of Tax & Excise, Pasighat was contacted over the alleged lapses and illegalities,  he told this reporter that, he was away at Itanagar in a training programme as a State Training Coordinator. “I am joining the office from Monday and shall look into the case seriously, if complaint of ABSU (E) is found genuine and valid, serious action will be taken against all the erring liquor vends”, he added.

Meanwhile, DC Pasighat has also taken the matter seriously and has directed the Supdt. Tax & Excise to submit the report this month end.
