ITANAGAR, May 21:  Hundreds of people including relatives and BJP party leaders and workers of the state today paid tribute to senior BJP leader, late Kabak Yabi on her first death anniversary here at her residence in Nyokum Lapang.

Late Yabi was one of the pioneers and front leaders in the eighties of the saffron party in state. She was one of the dedicated and sincere party workers of BJP who undertook much pain in propagating the BJP across the state.

Late Yabi joined BJP in 1983 with her husband Late Kabak Mem and worked sincerely which made the party flourish in the state, as a result earning her the moniker “BJP Maa”.  She become the first BJP Mahila Morcha President in the year 1997-99, followed by BJP state secretary and later appointed as National Telecom Member in 1998-2003.

Commemorating the great leader, National President, Bharatiya Janata Mahila Morcha, Vijaya Rahatkar said Late Yabi was a dedicated soldier of the BJP’s face in the state. She was one of hardcore workers in women’s empowerment and will be remembered for her contribution for the state and nation, Rahatkar said.

 Vice President State BJP cum Chairman Rubber Board Tame Phassang , BJYM National Secretary and In-charge North India Ratan Jaiswal, MLAs Mutchu Mithi, Paknga Bage, and others  also attended the programme to pay their tributes.
