ITANAGAR, Sep 6; The Governor of Arunachal Pradesh BD Mishra visited Government Primary School, Raj Bhavan, Itanagar today. The school has 82 students, of which 65 are girls.
The Governor advised the children to study well and score good marks in the examination.
Continuing his effort to identify the challenges in primary education of the State, the Governor visited the classrooms and other amenities of the school. He also interacted with the teachers and members of the School Management Committee.
The Governor found the classrooms inadequately lighted with restricted natural light and ventilation. He was disappointed to find that there is no separate bathroom for girls.
The Governor said that lack of toilet facility has been one of the reasons, why many girl students stop their study.
The Governor, during his visit also found an inadequate arrangement for mid-day meals to be provided to the students.
Following the visit, the Governor called for a meeting of all the stakeholders. Inspector General, ITBP, Director, Elementary Education, management committee member, all teachers of Government Primary School, Government architect and Raj Bhavan officers attended the meeting. He asked the officials to make the school run properly.
