KOLORIANG, Oct 14: The Kurung Kumey District Administration, in coordination with the Public Works Department, Koloriang Division, carried out a joint eviction drive to remove illegal structures and encroachments from the Right of Way (RoW) of the proposed Ring Road at Koloriang.
The drive was undertaken after due notices were issued to the concerned occupants and in accordance with the prescribed legal procedures. Its objective was to clear obstructions along the designated road alignment so that the project can proceed without hindrance.
Illegal structures, including boundary walls, houses and other land encroachments falling within the designated Right of Way, were successfully removed despite a few bottlenecks encountered during the exercise.
The exercise is an important step towards the planned development of Koloriang Township. Once completed, the Ring Road is expected to improve road connectivity, ease movement within the town, and strengthen public infrastructure for residents.
The District Administration has appealed to the public to extend continued cooperation in the development of the township and to refrain from fresh encroachments on government land and public road corridors. DIPRO
