ITANAGAR, Jun 7:In coordination with Nirjuli police station, a team of Child Welfare Committee (CWC), Child Line, Itanagar and labour department officer rescued a two year old girl child who had been allegedly kidnapped by unidentified person on May 12 last.

The Itanagar child line coordinator Jumtum  Minga informed that on June 4 last, the child’s mother  Rupali Das  had approached the Child Line Office Itanagar  seeking  help to find her two year old daughter who had been kidnapped on May 12 last .

Acting on a tip off, that the kidnapper concealed the child somewhere in Itanagar, the team swung into action and traced out the  child  from  the house of a local person at Itanagar.

As per report, the incident occurred when Rupali Das was waiting for a commercial vehicle in Bage Tinali, Nirjuli to go to Gophur, Assam. At that moment one Montu Deori came with his Tata Magic vehicle and offered her to accompany him convincing her that he is also travelling to the same destination. Later, in some isolated area accused Montu assaulted and threw her out of the moving vehicle and fled from the scene with her minor daughter.

An FIR was also lodged at Gohpur Assam police station and at Doimukh police station against kidnapper Deori, who is still at large.
