Indian Army conducts ‘Know Your Army’ outreach
ITANAGAR, Jul 22: Chairing the 6th edition of e-Pragati meeting today which was conducted through virtual mode, Chief Minister Pema Khandu called upon the District Administrations and Health department to achieve a 100% coverage of dose 1 Covid vaccination by mid August next.
While emphasising on headcount methodology as the ideal option in the ongoing Covid vaccination drive rather than electoral rolls or population census, Khandu said it will give the correct status of doses given the fact that a good chunk of the state’s population in interior districts may have their names in electoral rolls but are settled in urban areas in other districts. “If we go by electoral rolls as per guidelines, Itanagar Capital Complex (ICC) has already vaccinated way above 100% of its population. Similarly, in some districts like Kra-Dadi, they have vaccinated less than 50% of their population as per electoral rolls,” the CM cited the example as an explanation. Appreciating the fact that most of the districts have already completed the headcount of their existing population and are on a mission to vaccinate all, Khandu urged the districts yet to do so to complete the process by July end.
Informing that there is no shortage of vaccines, he requested the DAs to reach out, convince and vaccinate all targeted beneficiaries at least with the 1st dose within mid August. Referring to the government’s efforts to economically empower the state’s SHG through credit and market linkages, the Chief Minister said the role of Deputy Commissioners in this financial inclusion effort will be paramount. “85% of our people belong to the rural populace. So to develop Arunachal Pradesh, economically empowering them is a must. Why not achieve this through our SHGs? It’s the best option and now banks are also coming forward to partner in offering credit linkages,” he observed.
Terming the menace of drug abuse more dangerous than terrorism, Khandu informed that recently the state cabinet has passed the Arunachal Pradesh Policy on Psychoactive Substances 2021-26 to fight the evil, adding that the DAs must play sincere and proactive roles. Several major issues like petroleum and hydrocarbon extraction and exploration, crime and criminal tracking network and system, CAMPA, construction of road to Tali, multi-storied parking facilities in Civil Secretariat and elsewhere in the state capital, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna (both rural and urban), implementation of MGNREGA, etc. were discussed in the meeting which was also attended by Education Minister Taba Tedir, Health Minister Alo Libang, Chief Secretary, Commissioners and Secretaries.
The CM also launched two important web portals, one of the Education Department and the other a State Control Room to transparently manage the state’s COVID-19 status. Both the portals have been designed by the department of Information Technology. The Education Department’s web portal http://education.arunachal.gov.in/ is equipped with features like a grievance cell to enable online solutions, take feedback and monitor teachers’ performance. One unique feature is the ‘Know Your Teacher’ link that enables any visitor to get the details of any teacher serving in any of the government schools in the state.
The State Control Room’s integrated web portal http://statecontrolroom.arunachal.gov.in/ hosts a dynamic COVID-19 analytical dashboard which will help in extending better responses to the information seekers and thereby help in devising the best strategies in the fight against COVID. The dashboard can also be used during emergency medical needs.
