ITANAGAR, Oct 21: Following the Mega Peaceful Rally held in the capital, a delegation from the Indigenous Faith and Cultural Society of Arunachal Pradesh (IFCSAP), led by its President Dr. Emi Rumi and General Secretary Maya Murtem, on Tuesday submitted a memorandum to Mama Natung, Minister of Home, Indigenous Affairs, urging for the immediate implementation of the Arunachal Pradesh Freedom of Religion Act, 1978.
The delegation also included Radh Taba, President of the Youth Wing, and Rikar Dini, Secretary of the Youth Wing IFSCAP. The memorandum, addressed to the Chief Minister Pema Khandu, was handed over through the Home Minister as the Chief Minister is currently out of station.
Speaking to the media, Dr. Rumi stated that IFCSAP has placed its firm demand through the Department of Indigenous Affairs for the swift framing of rules and full enforcement of APFRA, 1978. He cautioned that if the state government fails to act within the assured timeframe, IFCSAP will initiate its own course of action.
The organization reiterated that the implementation of APFRA is crucial to safeguard the indigenous faith and cultural identity of Arunachal Pradesh.
