TEZU, Jul 27: A coordination meeting was held today to take stock of Independence Day celebration and Jan Sunwai preparations under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Karma Leki.
Departments were urged to cooperate and to take up their assigned tasks with diligence. The DC particularly stressed on display of stalls for public benefit and directed the district election office, SBI Tezu, DF&CSO, DSO(stats) and PHED to specially take active roles.
A date for the district's first Jan Sunwai was also fixed for August 6 at Bekhuliang village of Sunpura circle. He said that both beneficiary and service oriented programmes must put up stalls on the fixed date.
The DC also directed the allied departments to make their preparations in advance to ensure maximum delivery. Further, the Jan Sunwai would also be held in Wakro circle in the coming months. SDO S Karmakar will be the overall in-charge for the Sunwai and CO V Bellai will be the ground level coordinator. The meeting was also attended by all admin officers, allied officers and paramilitary personnel.
